Two Places, One Day

Forget Me Not Café

506 Adelaide Street West

Yesterday I decided to take my friend to Forget Me Not Café. I kept telling her that she just HAD to try the Nutella lattes. Yesterday also happened to be extremely hot so we asked for our lattes iced. I not only love how our lattes came in cute little mason jars but this café has charm. It’s small and cozy and the wooden tables add to the rustic look of the place. This is the perfect place to go to in the summer but the multiple rooms and cozy niches make for a great study space during the school year.

Graffiti Alley

Begins on Rush Lane

On our way back to Union Station we decided to walk on Queen Street West. My friend has never seen Graffiti Alley so we decided to stop there. I have been there before but I didn’t realize how much more there is to it! This is a frequent spot for fun photo opportunities.

There are many walls filled with artistic graffiti but my favourite wall would have to be this one for obvious food related reasons:

Allan Gardens Conservatory is a beautiful gem within the city. I recently went there for the first time expecting it to be small but I was wrong. When you first walk in the dome-shaped greenhouse there is an abundance of exotic plants and light shining through the glass from every angle imaginable. There is a little bench in the centre where you can look up at the dome, which doubles as a great photo opportunity.

To be honest, I thought the dome-shaped room was it. I wasn’t expecting it to get much bigger than a few more sections but each room had another doorway leading to more flowers of different kinds. Although, a couple of sections were blocked off due to maintenance.

My favourite section featured cacti in unique shapes and sizes. One section had a small pond with fish which was surrounded by colourful plants and flowers. I even noticed a couple of people that entered the conservatory to sketch the scenery.

Whether you’re taking pictures, going on a date, or wanting to see some greenery within the city, this place would make for the perfect afternoon.
